Adherence to Preventive Screening and Testing

When patients do not understand the purpose of the test and do not see a relationship between early diagnosis and a cure, they will often be unwilling to undergo preventive screening and testing. Communicating clearly to patients about the importance of prevention and explaining exactly how screening and testing can prevent more serious illness is important.
